The page now uses Hugo instead of Jekyll. I don’t know why. It’s more efficient and I like the URLs better, but I don’t know why I feel the need to optimize things that work.

So that previous post wasn’t the last post, that’s kind of nice. I guess I’m a blogger. And I redesigned the page again to focus on the blog and cut the cruft.

Back from holidays, contemplating the future of the website. This might be the last post. Then again, that’s true for any post. Also considering deleting Facebook.

I wish I could switch into ‘having fun’ mode whenever I have free time.

All hobbies have very specific terminology, tools and memes, but speedcubing feels uniquely strange and funny. I have been laughed at multiple times by my family for the cube lube. And saying that I’m learning ‘intuitive F2L’ seems very Scientology.

New hobby alert: Ordered a Rubik’s cube. A MoYu RS3M 2020, to be precise. And why wouldn’t I be precise? It bothers me a bit that the package I ordered a month ago for my last new hobby (seed beeds) had not arrived when I ordered the cube. But I know I should just enjoy myself.

So I made some steps towards adding an RSS feed. So far it’s not working, but I’m too lazy and busy to troubleshoot it right now.

It’s really cool that I have my own Twitter where no one reads what I write and I don’t have to read other’s tweets. Not that I ever used Twitter.

Claude randomly implemented a reading time preview on the blog page and I feel like I should remove it. I wouldn’t read anything that says ‘11min read’.

I should spend less time looking at my own page and more time looking at others to make this one better.

Debugging vibes part 2

The addage “Debugging is like being a detective but you commited the murder.” does not apply to AI generated code. You’re Scooby Doo and you just arrived at the scene of a mass murder.

Debugging with vibe coding is as frustrating as googling for hours. Maybe more frustrating, because you realize how much you don’t understand what’s going on.

Reminder to myself: It’s okay to stay up past bedtime, but DO NOT read emails past bedtime!

So I (claude) just threw together a microblog thingy that takes .md files and then puts them into an html template with Jekyll, it triggers on push with GitHub Actions.
